American Heart Association Ambassador and Stroke Survivor Tia Timpson Joins Mischa This Week on The Back Story
Tia Timpson
Stroke Survivor

Join me on Saturday, August 13th as I celebrate the life of an unbelievably brave and determined woman in the person of Tia Timpson. On September 12, 2010 while in college, she had an almost fatal stroke. In 2012, we talked about her ordeal on my TV show in Baltimore. Ten years later, we are catching up to talk about all of the beautiful ways her life has changed since God miraculously saved her life. Click on the large picture to learn more about Tia's story. Mischa Interviews Journalism Giant and Owner of KBLA 1580 AM, Tavis Smiley on MLK's Birthday

Mischa with Tavis Smiley at the start of their conversation on January 15, 2022 at KBLA.
On October 2, 2021, I was hand selected by my journalism mentor, Tavis Smiley, to host my own show on his new station, KBLA Talk 1580. Three months later, Smiley sat across the desk from me in his station, on my show, for a LIVE in-person conversation about his mentor and the person he believes is "the greatest American this country has ever produced," Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. In addition to revisiting the greater work of Dr. King, Smiley and I focused more specifically on his book, Death of a King, and the agonizing betrayals Dr. King experienced during his last twelve months on this earth. About the conversation Smiley said,
"Mischa, you did an AMAZING job."
Having followed Smiley's career for more than 20 years, never in my wildest dreams did I ever think I would have the good fortune to host a show on his station, much less be in conversation with him . . . and be in conversation about a man who has had an incredible impact on both of our lives. In my mind, it can only keep getting better from here. Up next, conversations with Oprah Winfrey and Ave DuVernay. Universe, are you listening? More about KBLA 1580.
World Renowned Artist Charles Bibbs Joins Mischa
for Los Angeles Art Exhibit
jJanuary 8, 2022
My first art exhibit was spectacular.
Special thanks to iconic artist Charles Bibbs, my oldest son Kyle who flew in from Baltimore, and everyone else in attendance. The conversation was rich and I could not be more grateful for the interest in my artwork.

Book Coach & Diversity Editor
There are two big mistakes many writers make. One is comparing their writing to others and subsequently believing that their writing does not measure up. The other is going at it alone versus seeking out the expertise of someone more knowledgeable about the writing/publishing process.
Either one of these mistakes can suck the life out of a writer's aspiration, desire and intent to become a published author or prolific storyteller. Circumventing these two mistakes is why I take great delight in working with the clients who hire me to ghostwrite, or hire me to coach them through the development of a story idea, or hire me to edit a manuscript they fear is not as culturally or racially sensitive as it perhaps could be.
We have successfully helped numerous writers become published authors. Let us help you too. READ MORE
Mischa's Recommended Reads
As a ferocious reader, I am always reading three to four books at a time. Via this new section, I share books that I enjoyed, books that challenged my thinking, and books that greatly impacted my life. Because the list is extensive, books will be added monthly. Feel free to reach out to me on my socials to share books you've found impactful. I'd love to hear about what you've read or are reading. "How lovely to think that no one need wait a moment. We can start now, start slowly, changing the world. How lovely that everyone, great and small, can make a contribution toward introducing justice straightaway. And you can always, always give something, even if it is only kindness!"
